Projnya Mojumdar


Lecturer in English language & literature

 

Projnya Mojumdar is a lecturer and researcher whose work focuses on building theoretical frameworks to address bias in language education. Her primary contribution is the Critical Extension Framework (CEF), a new model for equitable ESL writing assessment that separates a student’s language proficiency from their culturally specific rhetorical style.\r\n\r\nThis work is the culmination of her interdisciplinary research in cognitive science, applied linguistics, and postcolonial theory. It is driven by a practical commitment to social equity, demonstrated through her previous fellowship with a prominent multinational NGO, where she designed and executed a groundbreaking community project aimed at addressing gender bias

Teaching expertise

Design and deliver engaging lectures in English language, applied linguistics, and literature.\r\n\r\nDevelop and lead research into equitable pedagogy and ESL assessment, culminating in the creation of the Critical Extension Framework (CEF).\r\n\r\nAuthor and co-author multiple research papers and preprints on topics including bilingualism, cognitive science, and postcolonial identity.   \r\n\r\nCreate customized assessments and collaborate with departmental colleagues on interdisciplinary teaching initiatives.
